Copays
A copay is the fee that the insurance requires to be paid at the time of service. Understanding your copay is an important part of knowing your benefits.
Deductibles
A deductible is an amount of money that has been established by the insurance company for your specific policy. If your policy has a deductible and it is applied to outpatient mental health, the client is required to pay out-of-pocket until the deductible has been met. When the client pays out of pocket for services, the practice sends claims to the insurance company, which helps the insurance company track the claims and provides them with information that contributes to understanding the client’s progress in meeting their deductible.
Client Responsibility for Services
The client is responsible for the cost of services. In the event insurance does not cover services, the client is responsible for payment of services provided. We encourage clients to take a proactive step around understanding your insurance benefits.
