I immediately fell in love volunteering and being of service at a very early age in my church soup kitchen with my grandparents and the journey continued from there. From Americorps VISTA, community building in Colorado, to peace organizing and various social justice projects in Mexico and Haiti.
My journey has included many years in special education and teaching, to community building, peace gardens, community murals as the Executive Director of a grassroots organization supporting transitional and marginalized communities.
Nature was always present and continued to weave through my work supporting at-risk youth and alternative programs with Adventure based/Wilderness Programs, and years of Clinical Social Work using Animal Assisted Therapies and Eco Therapies. I have led years of social skills groups throughout most of my career and have always had a love and passion for teaching and healing. I work in partnership providing a nurturing space for healing while combining clinical and nature based therapies. Whether at residential schools, public schools, transitional/private schools, or mental health agencies I have always felt extremely honored to share what I have learned on my journey with others.
